今作『class of '88』は1983年5月21日にEPIC・ソニーよりシングル「ワラビーぬぎすてて」、アルバム『WAKU WAKU』でデビューしてから今年5月に40周年を迎える記念アルバムとして、POPS時代の名曲のセルフカバーと新曲で構成された“NEW SENRI JAZZ”アルバムで、Matt Clohesy (b)、Ross Pederson (ds)を迎えて、ブルックリンのThe Bunker Studioでレコーディングが行われている。
