4月18日（火）より新国立劇場小劇場にて『エンジェルス・イン・アメリカ』が開幕する。二部作であるこの作品は各4時間ずつ、合わせて上演時間8時間にも及ぶアメリカ演劇史に名を刻む大作。1980年代のニューヨーク、同性愛とエイズや薬物依存、それぞれに深刻な悩みを抱えた3組のカップルを中心に物語が展開してゆく。演出は、『斬られの仙太』に続いて二度目のフルオーディション企画に挑むこととなる上村聡史。『エンジェルス・イン・アメリカ』の上演は、上村からの提案だったという 全文
